A Haitian non-profit for children

Every child deserves a pencil and a reason to hope.

« Chak timoun gen yon bèl istwa pou l ekri. »

Every child has a beautiful story to write.

Ti kreyon espwa walks alongside vulnerable children across Haiti — with school supplies, warm meals and safe spaces where they can create, speak and heal.

Every gift is tracked. Ask us what yours paid for — we will tell you.

What we do, every week

  • Sak LekòlSchool bags, supplies and reading corners so no child stays home for lack of a notebook.
  • Creative workshopsDrawing, painting and storytelling sessions where children put words on what they carry.
  • Vant PlenHot meals and hygiene kits, because a hungry child cannot learn.
Who we are

A small pencil, a whole lot of hope

Ti kreyon espwa was born in Haiti, out of a simple conviction: a child holding a pencil is a child holding their own future. Our name says it — a small pencil, and hope: the child's, and their community's.

Our mission

To support vulnerable children in Haiti by giving them access to education, proper nutrition and spaces for creative expression — so that poverty never becomes the reason a child stops dreaming.

We work close to families, schools and local leaders, one neighbourhood at a time, with full transparency on where every gourde and every dollar goes.

Our vision

A Haiti where every child — whatever their neighbourhood, whatever their family's income — grows up fed, in school, and free to tell their own story.

We are building a generation of children who read, draw, speak up, and become the adults their community is waiting for.

Dignity firstChildren are actors of their own story, never a display of misery.
Local rootsLed by Haitians, in Haitian Creole, with the families we serve.
TransparencyEvery donation is tracked and reported back to those who gave it.
ContinuityWe stay. Real change is measured in school years, not in single visits.
What we do

Three pillars, one child at a time

Education, creative healing and nutrition are not separate needs — a child needs all three at once. So we deliver all three, together.

Education

School supplies & learning

Nothing should stand between a child and a classroom — least of all the price of a notebook.

  • Full school kits: bag, notebooks, pencils, uniform
  • Scholarships covering a full school year
  • Mini-libraries and reading corners in the neighbourhood
  • Homework support with volunteer tutors

Creative development

Art, expression & healing

Many of our children have seen too much. Art gives them a language when words are still too heavy.

  • Weekly drawing and painting workshops
  • Storytelling and writing circles in Haitian Creole
  • Music, dance and theatre sessions
  • Emotional support with trained facilitators

Nutrition & health

Warm meals & hygiene

An empty stomach cannot hold a lesson. Vant Plen keeps children fed, healthy and present.

  • Hot meals served on workshop and school days
  • Hygiene kits: soap, toothbrush, sanitary supplies
  • Clean drinking water at every activity
  • Health check-ups and referrals for the most fragile
How we work

Small, close, and accountable

We would rather show you how we work than impress you with numbers we cannot back up. Here is what we commit to.

Close to the children We work in Haiti, with families we know by name — not through a distant office.
Dignity first No child's face and no family's hardship is used to raise money. Ever.
Every gift tracked Ask what your donation paid for and we send you the answer, with the receipts.
Led locally Haitian teachers, artists and neighbours run the programmes, week after week.

What our weeks look like

Illustrations of our programmes — school days, workshops, shared meals. They are not photographs of the children we serve, and that is a deliberate choice.

AI-generated illustrations. We do not publish photographs of the children in our programmes.

Why you will not see their faces

The images on this site are AI-generated illustrations. A photograph of a child in need of help follows that child for life — online, at school, into adulthood. We are not willing to trade that for a donation. The programmes and the needs are real; the faces are not, and we would rather say so plainly.

What we will show you

Instead of children's portraits: what your gift bought, when, and for how many. Write to us and we send the breakdown — school kits, meals served, workshop materials — with the receipts behind it. Partners and institutions can request the same on paper.

Support us

Give a pencil, give a future

A school kit costs about 25 USD. A month of hot meals for one child, about 15 USD. Whatever you give lands directly in a child's hands in Haiti.
